There’s no doubt in my mind that the nutrisystem diet can absolutely work. Looking back on my experience, I realize now that I had no idea why or if this diet was going to work. I basically just took a leap of faith that paid off for me. It’s only now that I have this experience behind me that I can evaluate why this diet worked so well. I will share this with you in the following article.

I Believe That Nutrisystem Works Because You Get To Eat A Wide Variety Of Good Tasting Foods That You Wouldn’t Normally Eat On A Diet: I’ll be honest. What attracted me to this diet was the ability to eat pizza, burgers, chocolate, cereal, pancakes, ravioli, pretzels and strawberry shortcake. Sure, I would have to eat the diet’s version of these foods but that seemed much better than the alternative. There are no less than 170 food options with this diet and most are comfort type foods that are much more palatable than chalky shakes and crumbly bars.

And now with the new “select line,” they offer the fresh / frozen and gourmet / restaurant type meals, so the selections and taste are even better.

The company really is always trying to raise the bar with taste and selection and I very much appreciate this. I have a much easier time knowing that I at least get to eat the comfort type foods that I would be eating anyway. So, there is less temptation for me to cheat and stray off the diet. It’s not so huge a sacrifice to begin with.

Nutrisystem Works By Inducing A Metabolic State Called Ketosis: Many people do not realize that this is really a low carb diet. All of the foods contain a very favorable carb to protein ratio. The catch phrase for this that they like to use is “glycemic friendly,” but what it means to you is that since you’re body is not getting the amounts of carbs that it is used to, it will have to (probably protesting greatly) burn it’s own fat to get by.

Of course, this is a great thing for you because it’s going to turn around and give you that quick and noticeable weight loss that you are going for.

Believe me when I say that it’s very hard to get into ketosis on your own. I have tried it. What’s often required is eating tons of meat and restricting yourself from any food that you might actually like and enjoy including pasta, snacks, cereals, desserts, (and even some sweeter fruits and vegetables.) Nutrisystem allows you to have all of these things and it still gets you into ketosis.

Nutrisystem Is Pretty Convenient: I will admit it. I’m pretty lazy by nature. I do not want to be counting carbs or preparing difficult meals or worrying about points or calories. I just want to be able to eat my meals in relative peace. This is pretty much the case on this diet. They give you the foods and only ask that you add in some yogurt, fruit, or salad so that you are getting fresh foods.

I suppose that my point is that they really aren’t asking too much of you. There is very little work involved and you are getting to eat decent foods no less than five times per day. And with a cost of only – per day, this is less than you would spend if you were trying to get in ketosis yourself which would likely be a lot more difficult and less appetizing anyway.
